xxx domain nameMany people follow the .xxx extension debate. Well… xxx is going to happen, it passed a month ago. ICANN and limited affiliates stand to make a great deal on money.
Does it protect the childen? No. There have been parental controls available for years. Parents overseeing their children is what protects them. Does it increase revenue for taxes. Yes. OUR government has been eager to get it’s foot in the internet door for years. I believe this is the beginning of bad things to come. The people making money is ICANN and select affiliates. If this is a fair process why not open it up for all registars to benefit?
In addition, some search engines may choose not to display .xxx sites. ok, but we’re talking about a freedom of speech issue. A whole new can of costly taxpayer worms will ensue. For more info click: http://www.freespeechcoalition.org/
